Dear Polar Research Community,

We’re thrilled to invite you to a series of upcoming webinars co-organised with the OCEAN ICE project (Ocean-Cryosphere Exchanges in Antarctica: Impacts on Climate and the Earth System), funded by the European Commission and UKRI.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enhance your research skills and connect with leading experts in the field! More information about the webinars and registration links below:

WP4 Webinar: Quantifying Antarctic Ice Sheet Deep Uncertainty
May 13, 2025 | 10:30 CEST

Explore cutting-edge research on the deep uncertainty of the Antarctic Ice Sheet and freshwater fluxes under climate forcing, one of the key focuses of the OCEAN ICE project.

WP1/10 Webinar: Subpolar Circulation, Heat Delivery and Water Mass Export
May 22, 2025 | 14:00 CEST

Join leading experts as they discuss the objectives and progress of Work Packages 1 and 10, which focus on subpolar circulation, oceanic heat transport, and the export of water masses. This session will provide an overview of the scientific goals and highlight key research tasks underway within WP1 and WP10.

WP2: Cryosphere-ocean Interaction, Processes and Feedbacks
May 23, 2025 | 14:00 CEST

This webinar will focus on Work Package 2 (WP2), which explores cryosphere–ocean interactions, key physical processes, and feedback mechanisms. Presentations will cover topics including the collapse of Thwaites Eastern Ice Shelf, deriving ice base topography using AUV-mounted ADCPs, turbulence beneath the Fimbul Ice Shelf, and the dynamics of iceberg grounding and melt.
