The Arctic Circle has published the draft programme for the 2026 Arctic Circle Assembly, offering an extensive overview of the discussions, speakers and events planned for this year’s gathering.

The Assembly will take place at Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavík, Iceland,from 8–10 October 2026. As one of the world’s largest annual forums dedicated to Arctic affairs, it brings together political leaders, Indigenous representatives, scientists, experts, businesses, organisations and young people from across the Arctic and the wider international community.

This year’s programme reflects the breadth and complexity of the issues currently shaping the region. Sessions will address topics including Arctic security and geopolitics, climate change, scientific cooperation, Indigenous leadership, sustainable development, energy, critical minerals, shipping, ocean governance, innovation, health and the future of northern communities.

The Assembly will feature plenary discussions alongside a wide range of breakout sessions organised by governments, universities, research institutions, Indigenous organisations, international bodies and other Arctic stakeholders. The programme provides participants with an opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen cooperation and explore responses to the rapid environmental, political and social changes affecting the Arctic.

The draft programme was published on 2 September and remains subject to change. Participants are encouraged to consult the programme regularly for updated information on sessions, speakers, venues and related events.
