The "touristic" eruption in Geldingadalir Iceland continues. It has been categorized as a small event and not posing immediate danger to people or infrastructure. The eruption started on March 19th, after a period of incredible seismic activity, through a small fissure.

Based on this information and the constant seismic activity an volcanic eruption is increasingly likely according to the Icelandic Met office spokesperson, Kristín Jónsdóttir.

The Minister for the Environment and Natural Resources has set a reindeer hunting quota for 2021 after receiving proposals from the Environment Agency. Up to 1220 animals, 701 cows and 519 bulls will be allowed to be hunted during the year.
